A Free Series From Jachim Growth School

India has over 5,000 careers. Most students can name seven of them.

500 Careers is a free, episodic series that introduces one career at a time: what the work actually involves day to day, what it takes to get there, and what kind of person tends to thrive in it. Five hundred episodes, one career each, built for the student who has never been told what else is out there.

Why This Exists

Life-changing decisions, made with very little to go on

The gap between the careers that exist and the careers students know about is not a minor oversight. It is a structural failure that affects hundreds of millions of young people. Global standards recommend one career counsellor for every 250 students. In India, that ratio sits somewhere between one in three thousand and one in ten thousand, and even then, only one in ten students ever receives any guidance at all.

"A cousin's experience. An uncle's opinion. A trending headline. Advice offered with confidence, drawn from the same seven careers, recycled across generations."

This is not a personal failure. It is an information failure, and it is the exact gap that 500 Careers was built to close.

How It Works

One episode. One career. Five hundred times.

Each episode is built around a single occupation, covered in enough depth to actually be useful, in a format any student can access and understand.

The Reality

What the job actually is

The daily reality of the role, not the one-line textbook description most students grow up with.

The Entry Point

What it takes to get there

The qualifications, skills, and entry routes explained honestly, including the ones nobody mentions at home.

The Trajectory

Where the career leads

What progression looks like over time, from a first role to where the path can realistically go.

The Fit

Who tends to thrive in it

The interests, strengths, and working styles that suit this career, so students can recognise themselves in it.

Across The Series

From medicine to marine biology

Across 500 episodes, careers in medicine, law, finance, technology, design, agriculture, sports, public service, trades, research, and media will sit alongside dozens of fields that rarely make it into a classroom. The obscure alongside the obvious. The underrated alongside the celebrated. For a student who has never met a marine biologist, an actuary, or an urban planner, this is the series that tells them those doors exist.
